Program
Description
A non-profit voluntary health organization supporting research and professional and community education programs to reduce disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and strokes. Services are available to anyone. Areas of special focus include schools, work sites, and health care professionals. Information on heart-related topics is available. A fee is charged for materials in bulk quantity. Volunteers have many opportunities to work with the American Heart Association on community education programs, fund raising events such as American Heart Walk, Women and Health, Heart of Gold Ball and office support. Provides referrals to community based CPR courses that meet the American Heart Association's Standards.
