Adult Day Health Care Services
|
|
Provides adult day health care services to persons with Alzheimer's disease or related dementias and respite to caregivers. Service is offered in a home-like environment with secure outdoor space for participants. Individual and group activities are structured yet spontaneous to provide stimulation sufficient to maintain a client at the highest functional level possible. Activities include socialization, reminiscing, sensory stimulation, crafts, cooking, music, games, exercises, breakfast, lunch and snacks.

Offers early stage programs, including support groups for persons in the early stages of dementia. Also offers support groups, family support/case management and counseling for caregivers and couples, community education and training about dementia and the various aspects of caregiving. The Berkeley Center houses a library resource room which is open to the public. Transportation provided or arranged for families unable to provide transportation, phone for information.
